NEWS
FROM CLOUDCATCHERS

Our aspirations are to produce happy, healthy, well-adjusted, adaptable, loving and affectionate, easily maintained, intelligent Labradoodle pets, that are well suited for the needs of modern families and I believe our referrals will confirm that we are very successful in doing just that.

I came across this interresting article wriiten by Kelly Burke in the Sydney Morning Herald where it is alleged that dog owners are wasting millions of dollars a year by over vaccination.

I've been drawing attention to this issue for the last 5 years. Good to know that at last somebody is publishing the facts ...

CLOUDCATCHER
LABRADOODLES
IS PROUD TO BE
AN ALA ACCREDITED BREEDER SINCE 2003

The Australian Labradoodle Association (ALA) has been Promoting and Protecting the Australian Labradoodle since 1998 and is Part of the Largest International Labradoodle Assoc With over 164 Accredited Breeders Worldwide

Why Choose an ALA Accredited Breeder?

  • You are supporting
the Australian Association that will be responsible for the future recognition of the Australian Labradoodle breed with the Australia National Kennel Club application in 2015.
  • Your support by purchasing
from an ALA accredited breeder will help lead to the needed numbers of entire Australian Labradoodles required by the ANKC, that are being recorded in the ALA Database, with currently over 2000 Labradoodles entered.
  • You have the support
network of an assoc with over 10 years experience, providing you with a complaints/appeal/ mediation process should the ALA breeder from whom you purchased your Labradoodle be found to be in breech the ALA code of ethics and rules and regulation in their dealings with you.
  • Our breeders by choice,
have chosen to concentrate on breeding only one breed of dog, the Australian Labradoodle, as they believe in the wonderful qualities of the Australian Labradoodle, not just in breeding whatever is designer dog flavour of the month,as they are actually developing a new dog breed that will endure time and change.
  • Your puppy comes
with ALA registration papers, 2 years warranty, Puppy Care Information, Life-time re-homing service and is required to be vaccinated, wormed,Âde-sexed and its parents DNA Profiled and Health Tested. Purchasing from a non-ALA Accredited Breeder will only serve to delay the acceptance, recognition and registration

Hi
After five and a half months of silence here is our beautiful girl Ceilidh (Kay-Lee).
Born on the 13th November to Tanner and Luka.
Ceilidh is a wonderful dog, loving, obedient (most of the time!), patient with my two over excited children (Elayna 8 and Louisa 3) and a loyal companion to my husband and me.
She was pretty easy going from day one, no whining in the middle of the night, she fitted straight in, she was beside the bed in her cage and I was there to reassure her and then each night I moved her further away as suggested and she was very good. Toilet training took a bit longer but we all worked hard from day one and now we have a dog that is completely house trained, no accidents, she tells us when she needs to go outside and we couldn't be happier.
Ceilidh is our first dog and it was important to us that we had a dog that would fit into family life and ease us in gently to a doggie lifestyle and she has been everything we could have asked for, I certainly couldn't do with out her now and she even gets on with our very feisty cat!
Thank you Cloudcatchers for giving us a very much loved member of our family.

LABRADOODLES IN THE NEWS

'A World First for the Labradoodle'

The Australian Labradoodle Association is the first dog breed association worldwide to require compulsory DNA testing for â€prcd-PRA. Prcd-PRA is a genetic eye disease that Labradors, poodles and at least 28 other dog breeds carry. The disorder causes cells in the retina at the back of the eye to degenerate and die. Fact: There is no treatment or cure for PRA for the labradoodle

'Here at Cloudcatcher Labradoodles, we are testing all our breeding dogs in an effort to eliminate PRA from the Labradoodle breed. You can be guaranteed that a Labradoodle puppy from cloudcatchers will never be affected by this blinding disease'

CloudCatcher Labradoodles

is located between Byron Bay and the Gold Coast
near Mt Warning, also called Cloud Catcher by the locals. It is the first place on the Australian Mainland to be touched by the morning sun and is located in the largest volcanic caldera in the Southern Hemisphere.

Dear Kathy,

Milo is now just seven months old, is 18 Kgs, and has become a great companion. He is a very happy, jolly boy who has his moments of madness but is a joy to have around. We have been very impressed with the level of his intelligence and the way he has learnt so quickly to sit, drop and his waiting for release before eating his meals. I am still following your suggested diet of Vets All Natural with chicken or beef twice a day.

We have just returned from a wonderful camping holiday to South Australia and Western Australia - Milo came with us of course and he just had the best time. My family, who are all very doggy people thought he was absolutely gorgeous - which of course he is. He travelled extremely welland was very relaxed in the car, and when we were camped he was so well behaved.

After Puppy Party at the Vet's and Kindergarten classes at the Kennel Club he has now started "big school" and is doing really well. He is very dog friendly, even when some of his classmates
become a bit snappy, and he believes every human being is his best friend.

I have included two recent photos of Milo on holiday!

Cheers, Barbara

A Non-Shedding
Hypo-Allergenic Australian Labradoodle

Our Main Goal in Breeding Labradoodles is to develop completely new un-related bloodlines to strengthen and further contribute to the genetic diversity of Australian Labradoodles; as we are breeding labradoodles for quality not quantity.

Our Labradoodle breeding program is unique

to the majority of Australian Labradoodle Breeding Programs At least half of the genetic parentage of over 70% of Cloudcatcher dogs is now from bloodlines new to the Australian Labradoodle.

Hi Kathy,

I just wanted to share with you a couple of photographs of Dougal – son of Tio and Gigi, born 25-May-2009. Dougal hasn’t been with us quite 1 year yet but his time with us has been a joy. He goes to school every week, he is now in intermediate class and still â€best boy’ as far as I’m concerned. He is a little bit bigger than I imagined he was going to be but he doesn’t know it. When I come home my Shih Tzu Ollie expects to be picked up for a cuddle – and so does Dougal (very funny). We have had a lot of visitors this year and Dougal has adopted each child as they walked through the door – he has totally charmed them – he lets them put pigtails in his hair and paint his toe nails! Charmed enough so my relatives in the UK want one just like him, the 2nd picture here was taken by my niece after his pigtail makeover – what a placid boyï We walked in the Million Paws walk this year with Dougals cousins (Barney and Betty – living and loving with Geordie and Claire Pepper).

We were approached by Animal Magic, excited to let us know she had the guide to clipping a labradoodle to the ALA standard – sent to them by Cloudcatcher – we felt quite part of the family.

Happiness and best wishes from
Sheila, Ollie and Dougal Naden

We do not kennel our labradoodles

95% of our labradoodles live in their forever homes with their care families. Our care homes are located within one hour of our rural premises, 90% of these care home labradoodles live on the average of ½ acre or larger properties providing plenty of room for exercise and stimulation. At retirement, normally around 3 years of age, our female labradoodles have only produced 2.7 litters of puppies on the average.

We maintain a staff ratio of 4 persons

full time, for on the average of less than 24 labradoodle puppies at any one time; to ensure that your labradoodle puppy receives the highest level of human interaction and care at Cloudcatchers.

We do this in order to provide you

with the most suitable labradoodle in the world for the needs of modern families; that besides being non-shedding and odorless, is in possession of great temperament, health, trainability, intelligence, intuition and confirmation and many are great candidates as assistance and service dogs.

Hi Kathy

I've been trying to find the time since Lucee's second birthday to give you an update on our beautiful Doods.
Graeme and I have now retired and the doodles could not be any happier. Lots of walks, visits to the local parks and beaches and of course dog obedience and we have now started with dog agility.
Sorry for the photo overload but I thought I would just let the photos tell the story.

Cheers

The Cloudcatcher Difference

is that our Labradoodles thrive as nature intended in a free range (not-kenneled) environment, frolicking together and accommodating of one another’s personalities as one peaceful, healthy, happy pack.

Our Labradoodle Habitat

in the year-round moderation of the semi-tropics is composed of 3 acres of connecting gardens and orchards adjoining the human den, which is of course the labradoodle favourite hangout.

Design is based on the labradoodle needs

The Cloudcatcher Labradoodles have their own purpose built ramp for accessing the house (as steps are bad for Labradoodle puppies) and a specially designed sofa which accommodates 5-6 doggies and their master very comfortably.

Our Labradoodles especially enjoy

their twice daily forays to their much loved 2 acre creek frontage paddock, which always has on offer, new smells and swimming experiences, along with lots of ball play. Check them out at the creek via the Photo Album.

The life of our Labradoodle is structured

around  Holistic Care from their daily homemade raw diet, preferred natural health care and recycling of waste; to the climate appropriate environmental design and comfort of the labradoodle puppy palace, puppy castles and the dogs various dens and hides.  From 4 weeks of age, each litter of Cloudcatcher labradoodle puppies thrive and develop in their own semi-shaded grassed garden, which is larger than most suburban backyards, with lots of toys, tunnels and plants/trees to keep them stimulated while exploring new sensory experiences.

We are breeding our much loved

and adored labradoodles, to produce that very special Cloudcatcher puppy for you and needless to say some of them qualify as that very special labradoodles breeding dog.
