Hi Kathy,
I just wanted to say thank you for being a reputable breeder of these wonderful dogs.
I came across the wonderful world of Labradoodles when I bought two from a puppy-only pet shop in Perth, Western Australia. I also became a member of an online forum, where I learnt all about the horrors of backyard breeders and puppy mills.
In my 18 months on that site I have become so aware, and so informed, that I know now that my Labradoodles are actually F1 crosses, and not the real deal at all. It doesn't make me love them any less, and I believe they have many of the wonderful qualities of this breed - they began my (what I know will be) lifelong love of dogs, and I am currently applying to Delta to become a trainer. I have never fallen so in love.
What breaks my heart is the doodle craze that has spread across the world - backyard breeding is out of control as it is, and the whole designer dog phenomenon has worsened it considerably, in my opinion. I look at sites like XXXXXXXXXX (EDIT) and I feel sick to my stomach - these kinds of places are everywhere, and I know that most people are so uninformed (like I was) that they will continue to blindly fill the world with dogs that will ultimately end up in shelters.
My Ruby is incontinent, has colitis, and constant urinary tract infections. I know now how lucky we are that she only has these things, coming from compromised breeding practices and inexperienced idiots out for the almighty dollar. I even wrote a letter to the shop where I got the dogs, asking them very politely and with genuine interest how they felt about being a puppy mill, and perpetuating the disorganised breeding and proliferation of unwanted dogs in the world. Of course, I received no answer.
The Labradoodle, in my opinion, should be recognised as a purebred dog, because it's original purpose was sound, and its temperament is second to none - they are joyful, wonderful, intelligent dogs who have completed our lives. We adore them. But never again will a dog of ours come from a pet shop, or anything but a registered organisation like yours, or a shelter - where I understand one in four dogs now is some kind of doodle mix.
So thank you for all your work, I have attached pics of my babies anyway, the loves of our lives, and when the time come in ten or twelve years to get our next Labradoodle, I know who I'll be calling.
Regards,
Sarah Yovich
Kathy Young is an ethical and caring labradoodle breeder.
I purchased an adult breeding dog from Kathy. I was very nervous
about buying an adult dog without meeting her first. I asked Kathy
a million annoying questions. Kathy patiently answered all my questions
openly and honestly. Our labradoodle from Kathy is everything she
told us and more.
She obviously was much loved while in Kathy’s care.
We are thrilled with our new dog and thrilled with
our experience working with Kathy.
I can recommend Kathy without any hesitation. She is an excellent
breeder and a wonderful person to work with.
Please feel free to email me with any questions about my experience.

An autistic Wodonga boy has received a labradoodle puppy thanks to the generosity of a group of workmates Aaron Corby, 9, got the dog, which combines the temperament of a labrador with the non-allergic coat of a poodle, earlier this month.
The deal was set-up by Cooinda Family Support and funded by a $1300 donation from the Associate Community Angels. The Angels are a group of workers from a Wodonga factory who donate a portion of their salary each week to help people in the community. Aarons dad, Terry Corby, said his son and the dog got along well. Cooinda co-ordinatoSue Pringle said she had been seeking a labradoodle for Aaron for months but had no funding until the Angels emerged.
“Trusts and community organisations were only willing to give assistance and support to families where a member had a life-threatening illness or visual disability,” she said. The dogs owner Kathy Young of Cloudcatcher Labradoodles; sold Curly to the group for a discount price and the

to have it flown from the Gold Coast to the Border.
Dear Kathy,
Hamish had his birthday party yesterday. He is now 23 inches tall, 22kg and for the entire year has only needed to go to the vet for his vaccinations. He eats and drinks well, is cooperative when we groom and clean him. He is trusting, protective, responsible (brings in the paper and mail every day) and gentle to all, and at the same time he has a healthy dose of impishness! He is liked by every one who meets him, including the postman! Even our faculty office manager (bureaucrat) has selectively forgotten the university regulations of 'no dogs' on campus and allows Hamish to roam the corridors and sleep in our office.
We are happy and privileged to have him in our lives.
Hopefully he is with us, too.
Thank you, Cheers.
Hi Kathy,
I've been meaning to drop you a line for ages. Our little Kiki is not so little these days. Just weighed her and she's 16.4 Kg. We haven't trimmed her except around her eyes a bit, as you can see from the attached photo. I just looked again at the picture of Mars on your web site.
She's a pea from his pod, wouldn't you say?
Wendy has never been attached to a dog before like she is to Kiki. It's the daughter she's never had. Both the boys adore her too and contend for her company in bed at night. So much for my household dog rules! We went for a walk a little while ago and, as usual, lots of people stopped to comment how pretty she is. Sam, our oldest boy, calls her a 'babe magnet'. We can let her off the lead and she never strays. She's really well behaved overall and very obedient.
Couldn't ask for a nicer dog.
All the best,
James
She
wins the hearts of all our friends, so much so that our friends Jacqui
and Antony Griffiths have now ordered a puppy from you. They just adore
her as do we.
