Dear Kathy,

Lulu is doing great, we remembered it was her birthday tomorrow, March 13 and bought her a dog biscuit and got a juicy looking bone from the butcher. She has really increased her appetite over the past month or two from being a fairly humble eater to loving all her food. She still thrives on her daily walks down to the local dog park and beaches but doesn’t seem fussed to play with other dogs and doesn’t enjoy being sniffed and hunted down by the male population.

She runs to my heels and sticks close by until they all leave her alone. She craves affection and just adores all the children and all their friends, is involved in every game of cricket, rugby, soccer or basketball and often steals the ball for the extra chase, she lies under the trampoline when they jump there and follows us from room to room to be involved.

When Amelia plays dolls lulu becomes one of them and gets covered with a towel at sleeping time and plays along willingly with all the antics of the tea party etc etc.

The boys adore her and she misses them terribly when they are off at school each day, she runs up the drive to greet us when we come home and has pretty much stopped the submissive urination when visitors/strangers come. Her favourite game is tug of war…………..

she’ll always grab it and bounce around first thing in the morning when we see her. She also has a favourite towel just like a blanket like all my children have had as babies!!!!

She is intimidated by tall people, particularly tall men, everyone in our home is under 5 foot 10 inches so this is interesting but aside from this and other dogs, she is very very settled and so so precious to our home and family life. We thank you once again.

I enclose a recent photo of her with a bone just so you can see her size and colour (lighter than we every expected but a beautiful colour with great natural highlights!). you cannot see just how beautiful her face and expression and how long her eyelashes are in this photo so I’ll take one tomorrow on her birthday and forward it on.

With renewed thanks.
Allison and all the Hansens

Hi Kathy,

Its been a few months since we last wrote, so we thought that we would fill you in on our 'doodledom' with Angus. Firstly, he is a total spunk! Strangers routinely stop us on walks around town and in the neighbourhood to admire him. He has met most of our family and friends and they all love him, especially my nan who calls him 'teddy-bear'. We are really impressed at his curly, soft coat that is the colour of caramel.

We gave him a rough hair-cut the other night to get rid of his puppy fluff, and now he looks absolutely gorgeous! We have had lessons at puppy-school, and we were surprised at how quickly he learned new tricks - usually one or two a week. Toilet training was over and done with in two weeks, and he sleeps through the night at the end of our bed.

Of course, he has been spending lots of time with Darcy the labrador at my parents property and he always comes home exhausted. He is pretty good at entertaining himself though - at around seven each night he begins throwing himself toys, sliding around on the tiles, or he gets out in the garden and goes nuts flicking the bark around. He is pretty clever at feeding time too, scratching or barking at his empty bowl when he is hungry, or when he needs fresh water.

We are so happy with Angus, and the joy that he has brought to our lives, and would recommend a labradoodle puppy to others. Dee

Hi Kathy,

Thought I'd check in with a couple of photos of our beautiful little man Zappa. He has been a really good boy. Already house trained, nearly sitting on command and has already learnt where he can & can't go in the house ... so not only good looks but smart to boot! ;-).

But jesus can this boy eat!!! Thanks again for all the advice and also delivering us with a beautifulfamily member.

Will keep you posted with future developments.

X T&K

Hi Kathy,

Apologies for not emailing before. Jazzy is doing great!! The training has been going pretty well and Jazzy has a really good temperament. The only thing that has been going really slowly and seems to be a problem still is the jumping up, particularly with visitors to the house.

Jazzy really enjoys the beach walks and although at first was a little nervous of the sea, seems to love it now. Jazzy also gets to meet Tex now and again (Neil & Nicola's Labradoodle from Cloudcather's) and they really seem to love each other. Jazzy seems to have grown so quickly particularly this last month. A couple of pics are attached for you.

Thanks for everything......we all love our Jazzy.

Hi Kathy,

Just wanted to thankyou once again for our beautiful boy, Bruno! I know you have a bit of a soft spot for your boys and we know why, they are a real treasure that are every bit the loving big teddy bears!!! He is very obedient and has learnt many tricks already, we did try a few obedient lessons but found he was a little too distracted by the other dogs and has learnt much more from us.

His favourite times are at the beach where he socialises with all his pals and has a swim in the creek, he is very protective of the kids in the water and gets a little on the emotional side when they are also swimming! His favourite food aside from regular chicken wings are avocadoes (these ones aren't balls!!) they come from our back tree and he will delightfully peel and deseed them as a bit of a challenge.

I really think you should be selling your dogs with an all inclusive and essential pair of socks as i've heard they can have a bit of a fetish, we watched him one day search the wash basket high and low until he found what he was after. He is now the proud owner of his own pair!!! Nevertheless, we feel absolutely blessed to have such a cool doodle with a great personality, the kids just think he's the bees' knees and even though he can be naughty sometimes, we wouldn't swap him for the world!

P.S He really resembles his Mother. B

est Wishes,

the Lyle's

Hi Kathy,

Just a quick note to let you know we have received Rusty safely. I know that a red dog named Rusty isn't very original but blame my other half as he would not budge from Rusty. Sarah and her pup met us at Melbourne Airport (have included a photo). Poor pups had to endure a Melbourne 40 degree day.

Not the best day to arrive here. Rusty has met the cats with no drama again and has said hello to Lucee. Lucee is more excited over the meeting than Rusty. He has eaten his first meal (a bit of a guts actually) Lucee will have to guard her dinner dish. He is one very handsome puppy.

Thank you so much again for providing us with such a gorgeous dog and puppy,

Ingrid

Hi Kathy,

I have enclosed two more photos of some hot dogs. We have been running the air conditioning for them but being a young puppy you seem to spend half your time outside with them anyway. Today should be our last really hot day and then there is supposed to be cool days following. Lucee loves her little brother!

Sometimes too much! You were right about the second dog learning faster. Rusty knows his name (and the sound of his dinner dish), how to wee on command (cute with both of them doing it together), starting to ring the bell to get outside (glass doors can be a pain when you are a dog), sitting to get dinner and it's not cool to jump up as mum turns her back to you and all your play stops. We had Rusty a bit sick the second night (didn't affect his appetite) and we are putting it down to the heat.

Since then what ever goes in stays down. He learnt the hard way not to put his head in Lucee's dish until she is finished with it. He has been very polite ever since.

She didn't hurt him but he got the message. Our boy is no dummy. Ingrid

Hi Kathy,

I just wanted to give you an update on our little Ruby Reynolds (Kiva and Zappa litter) and send you some new pictures. To say that we are in love with her is an understatement. I had to hassle my husband, Paul, to get a puppy and he was never particularly interested in the photos I would show him from your website when she was born. Well, if you could only see him now!! I have been totally replaced now that Ruby is in his life. You might recall when we picked her up you said she was the "little devil" of the litter, being the only cream pup.

Well as beautiful and funny as she is, she certainly lives up to the "little devil" nickname and can be a little force to be reckoned with at times, so we are very conscious in ensuring that we remain top dogs in the house and she doesn't lord it over us. I have been very diligent with her training and she is proving to be a smart little dog and will pretty much do anything for you if there is a liver treat in it for her.

We have completed puppy preschool and have also signed up for the next level of training when she is 5 months old. Ruby was by far and away the smallest dog at puppy school, but when it came time to let the dogs socialize off their lead, Ruby was in amongst it taking on all the big guns and giving them a run for their money. The trainer remarked that "she is one bold little puppy" as they are generally a little cautious the first night - not our Ruby.

Paul and I are already talking about getting a little playmate for Ruby from you and would be interested to hear your views on when you think is the best age to introduce a new pup?? Is it better to get one sooner rather than later so that they grew up close in age, or would it be better to wait until Ruby is about 2 years old?? Thanks again Kathy for such a beautiful little pup.

Our lives are just so much more enriched now that she is part of it and has given us a real spring in our step when we get up to greet her every morning and head out for a walk.

Hope you enjoy the photos and will be sure to send you more as she gets older.

Hi Kathy,

I thought you'd like a brief update and a photo of Indy at 5 months. As you can see - he's gorgeous. His dark gold coat has softened to a lovely soft apricot and he's very handsome. He knows this because everyone tells him so!

Indy is also very smart indeed and at 5 months is very obedient and has learned his primary skills (sit, stay, fetch, heel, etc) very well. At this moment, he's not displaying any "alpha" traits at all - he's just very lovable.

Hi Kathy,

I came across these two photos of Lulu just now and thought I'd send them onto you. As you commented in previous photos she is really very blonde and these photos are after she had been clipped, before she was even lighter but we were so nervous clipping as it has been so so cold. Anyway as you can see she is ever playful and really just gorgeous.

The children never cease to include her in our activities whether it is driving them to school or taking them to sports games on Saturdays, she tags along and comes for the fun. She loves school pickup and really seeks out human contact wherever possible, she's a real mother hen to them too, ..............she continues to be positively disinterested in other dogs but certainly less anxious about them than she used to be.

We love her and continue to get questions about where we got her and I have provided your details many times so I hope business continues to be good for you.....................so many people also pass comment about her beauty/coat/personality and define her as a classic tv dog?

The one every child dreams to own that they see in Disney movies as your quintessential family pet!

With thanks as always.

Hi Kathy,

Please find attached a recent pic of our beloved Monte (Sassy and Zappa) with our youngest son Tristan. We love him to bits and he clearly loves us. He's everything we could wish for in a dog, playful yet obedient, tolerant and intelligent. He has always been wonderful with the children and other dogs alike.

While still a puppy at heart, now that he is 18 months old he is rapidly maturing into a wonderful companion and friend. I get so many compliments (at least one a day), on what a handsome fellow he is and only wish I had his looks!

I always give these people (where relevant) your website address so they might contact you to find out more about owning, what we think is, the best family dog anyone could ask for.

Best regards, Steve

Hi Kathy,

Just an update on one of your puppy. Java was a female, choclate wool pup from Cookie X Zappa born 3/4/07. She is a lovely dog, we have been very impressed with her right from the start. Having been a vet nurse for the last 15 years (and having to help new puppy owners with many puppy horror stories) I expected some usual puppy problems with sleeping, toileting etc., but no she has been great. She didn't whinge from the first night, toilet training was a breeze, easy to train, perfect behaviour in the car - just brilliant - I don't know what you do but you do it well! So Java is now 7 months old and is a much loved, happy, sweet natured part of our family.

She is not as big as we expected her to get, but size doesn't really matter now does it!! As you will be able to see by the photos her coat colour has changed alot, but it's perfect because not one bit falls out. Since she had her first clip her coat is ultra low maintance. She loves fetching and playing soccer with the boys. My two boys have great fun with her, but my youngest Blake, who isn't at school yet so is home with Java lots, are best of friends.

There wander around the yard together exploring, play fetch and chase, and when worn out sit on the bean bag together watching TV.

Hope you enjoy the photos, keep up the good puppy breeding (we might be back for no.2 puppy one day).

Thanks,

Di Palmer.
